You will be asked to fill out a brief health history that includes previous and current eye conditions and treatments, systemic conditions, family history of eye disease, current list of medications and any known allergies to medications, etc.

Then, you will go through preliminary testing with an optometric assistant which includes corneal curvature measurements, eye pressure testing and retinal imaging of each eye. When ready, the Optometrist will assess your vision and eye health via ocular skills testing, refraction and a dilated health assessment of each eye.

Examination results and treatment options will be discussed with each patient. This includes:

  • Eye glasses information
  • Contact lens information and education
  • Vision therapy recommendations
  • Diagnosis explanations with applicable treatment options and prognosis
  • Nutritional information
  • Visual hygiene education
  • Visual ergonomics recommendations (for patients who work in an office/on a computer for multiple hours a day)
